A trip to SA to meet Granny Lynne

The car was packed and we were off to the airport in Dusseldorf to start our 24 hour journey to SA. First it was a 2hour ride to Germany, then a 7.5hour flight to Dubai (landing at 3am our time!), a transit time of 3hours, then an 8.5hour flight to Durban. After that a 1.5hour drive to Eshowe. The first flight both cherubs did not travel very well but on the second flight Erin slept the whole time except to wake for her feeds.

First vaccination!

I was transported back to my squeamish days when I had to take Erin for her first vaccination. The needles and her cry for 15 mins afterwards was distressing. Erin has put on 2.815 kgs since her birth and now weighs 6.995kgs, is 62cm in length and has a head circumference of 41cm. The nurse was very happy with her cooing, interaction and lying on her tummy. She did suggest Erin has a bottle of formula for her last evening feed to help her sleep through the night.

Second vaccination

Time flies and again the trip to the clinic for the second vaccination was done alone. Erin was very good and did not cry as much this time. She has really grown in both directions - weight 7.930kgs (increase by almost 1kg since the last visit), 67.5cm in height and 43.5cm head circumference. Something has to be said about mothers milk!
